Nacionalni park Triglav

The TNP is the largest natural park in Slovenia, covering 84.805 ha of land. It mostly belongs to the Julian Alps area. The highest point of the park is also Slovenia’s highest mountain – Triglav, 2864 m high. The lowest point is the Tolminka river gorge, with an altitude of 180 m. Here the regime is far stricter than in other Slovene parks, as it protects some of the greatest natural treasures in Slovenia. Among them are Lake Bohinj, the Soča river, the Triglav lakes, numerous waterfalls and many more.
