The church was built in the Roman style in the early 12th century. The defence wall was added in the Renaissance period. The most famous painting is the Danse Macabre fresco, which is a late- medieval allegory on the universality of death. The church is included in the list of the World's sights of interest. It is located in the village Hrastovlje in Slovenian Istria.
