Rakov Škocjan

The valley of Rakov škocjan is a karst valley in the Notranjska region. It has been protected as a natural monument since 1949. The fusion of two valleys has produced a typical karst phenomenon: the river springs up on the surface and disappears under ground. Even more interesting are the two natural bridges- the big and the little bridge, called Veliki and Mali most, which came into existence as a result of a former karst cave ceiling depression.
