Zgornja Idrijca Landscape Park
The Zgornja Idrijca park is one of the best naturally preserved areas in Slovenia. It is mostly covered with forest. A large part has a karstic foundation, which has resulted in the formation of gorges and caves. The most famous sight in this area is probably the Wild lake which springs deeply underground and emerges through a gorge. The water barriers, called “klavže”, are declared a historical sights. The park is the home of many endangered animal and plant species.
