Poljanska baba Rock
On the eastern slope of Mažeklja, there is a mighty rock which juts out of the beech forest. The rock was named after a cruel and cold-hearted noblewoman who could have saved the life of a peasant when he was attacked by a beast, but had chosen not to. The legend tells that she was turned into a rock, because she had left him die. Hence the name 'Poljanska baba' (the Woman of Poljane).
