Roman Necropolis, Šempeter in
the Savinja Valley
The ancient Roman road was leading through the town Šempeter in the past. Next to it, is a burial ground dating from the 1st and 4th century. A number of magnificent Roman gravestones were found during the archaeological excavations conducted here. Decorated with reliefs based on mythological themes, they are nowadays exhibited around the village parish church.
