Rajhenburg Castle, Brestanica
Rajhenburg castle is the oldest castle in Slovenia. It stands on the foundations dating back to the year 895. The castle was demolished by the Hungarians in the battles during the 10th century. It gained its final apperance in the beginning of the 17th century. For a while, it played the role of a cloister. During World War 2, it was used as a centre for deportation of Slovenes. The castle houses the permanent exhibition about the lives of the Trappists, and occasional galleries.
