Piran
The old harbour city Piran is situated at the end of the Piran peninsula, between the Strunjan and Piran bays. The peninsula ends with the cape Madona. The city is a good example of the medieval Mediterranean architecture with typical narrow alleys and houses built closely together. In the middle of the main square, stands the monument dedicated to the famous Giuseppe Tartini. In the vicinity of the square, there is a building called Benečanka, erected in the middle of the 15th century, following the model of the Venetian architecture.
