The castle was built in the 16th century and is located in the vicinity of Dolenjske Toplice. Primičeva Julija, the muse of our famous poet France Prešeren, used to reside in this castle. She was buried in the nearby cemetery. In the past, the castle served as the home of the Merciful Brothers' Order and also as a hospital. Today, it is used as a internal ward of the General Community Hospital in Novo Mesto.
