Kropa is surrounded by the Jelovica hills. It started developing in the 14th century with the outspread of the ironmongery- the most known activity in Kropa. The town gained its name after the brook Kroparica which runs through the town. Both World Wars played an important role in the history of the town Kropa, because they demanded a large number of victims among its inhabitants.
