Kranj
Kranj is the biggest city in the Gorenjska region and is the fourth largest city in Slovenia. The historic town centre is today situated on a rock platform underneath the mountain Šmarjetna gora and at the confluence of the Kokra and the Sava rivers. It was granted the city rights in the 13th century, although there is evidence that the settlement, called Chreina, stood on the same spot already in the 7th century.
