Castle Mokrice, Mokrice
The Mokrice castle was first mentioned in the written records in the 15th century. It was given its name ('the wet place') after the surrounding swampy area. There used to be a Roman fortification on the same spot. Today, the interior of the castle and its surroundings are very well maintained, as the castle has been turned into a top hotel and restaurant. The hotel also includes a golf court.
