Bistrica Castle in Slovenska Bistrica
The castle dates all the way back to the 13th century. The appearance of the castle, as we know it today, originates from the Late Renaissance period. It has a rectangular shape and four towers. The reconstruction began in 1985 and the castle museum now holds as many as 15 permanent collections, among them: Celeia – Poetovio Roman Road Exhibition, the Ančnik ancient fortress, Arko’s Ethnological Collection, Bistrica Wine Producers Collection. In addition to this, the castle hosts other events. The premises also include a wedding hall and a park next to the castle.
